What is the eligibility criteria for CSIR NET exam?

Educational Qualification:

Master's Degree (M.Sc.) or equivalent: A Master's degree in a relevant scientific field from a recognized university/institution is required.

B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS: Candidates holding a B.Tech, B.Pharma, or MBBS degree can also apply.

Integrated BS-MS: Candidates with an Integrated BS-MS degree are also eligible.

Final Year Students: Final year students pursuing a relevant Master's degree are eligible to apply, but they must complete the degree within two years of the NET result declaration with the required percentage.

Minimum Percentage:
General/Unreserved/EWS: 55% marks.
SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Third Gender: 50% marks.

Nationality: Applicants must be Indian nationals.
Age Limit: JRF: Not more than 30 years of age. Lectureship/PhD Admission: There is no upper age limit.

What is the exam pattern for CSIR NET exam?

The CSIR NET Life Sciences exam pattern involves three parts: Part A (General Aptitude), Part B (Life Sciences), and Part C (Life Sciences). Part A has 20 questions, Part B has 50 questions, and Part C has 75 questions. Candidates are required to answer 15, 35, and 25 questions from Parts A, B, and C, respectively. The exam is multiple choice, with negative marking of 25% (0.5 marks).

When will the notification be out for CSIR NET exam?

The CSIR NET 2025 notification, including the application form, is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in May 2025. The exam is tentatively scheduled for the third week of June 2025. The notification will be available on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in.

What are the subjects that are being taught for CSIR NET exam?
